How Light Interacts with Quartz Finishes
The role of lighting can’t be overstated. Quartz with built-in sparkle responds differently depending on the source and angle of illumination. Spotlights, under-cabinet strips, wall washers, or even daylight from skylights each evoke a unique reaction from the material.
For example, directional task lighting in a kitchen highlights the depth of texture across the worktop, casting minute shadows between the flecks. In a bathroom, pendant lights hung above a vanity might allow the surface to glow subtly from below, reinforcing a serene, spa-like atmosphere.
If a space lacks natural light, choosing a brighter quartz base with fine reflective particles helps mimic daylight. This makes it easier to keep rooms feeling fresh without relying solely on paint colours or large windows.
