Designing With a Lighter Palette in Mind
When trying to open up a smaller space, keeping things pale and airy will almost always help. Pairing white quartz with colours that won’t fight for attention, such as warm greys, ivory, sand, or gentle taupe, encourages visual continuity. Flooring in neutral tones or walls painted with soft, eggshell hues will echo the same lightness, creating a consistent atmosphere from floor to ceiling.
Cabinetry also plays a role. Handleless doors with a painted finish in off-white or pale ash add to the streamlined feel. If you’re drawn to contrast, stick with accents that don’t overwhelm; brushed brass taps or matte black handles can add dimension without dominating.
